Akwa Ibom State Chairman of ACCORD, Rt Hon Martins Ansa, has promised indigenes and residents of the oil rich State that, “if voted for our party’s Governorship candidate to emerge as Governor of the State in 2023, he will end hunger in his 100 days in office.”
Rt. Hon. Ansa, while speaking to newsmen in Uyo on Monday hinted that, ACCORD is determined to use agriculture as a catalyst to boost industrialization in the State.
The party’s Chairman informed that their Governorship Candidate, who is a renowned structural engineer; Emem Coffie, is ready to work towards creating jobs for the teeming youths in the state.
His words: “As a trained engineer and project manager, our Governorship candidate recognizes the importance of infrastructure. On the other hand, as a manager of resources, prioritization, opportunity cost, and scale of preference should be the guiding principle for any elected Governor, especially in a State like ours,” he stated.
Rt. Hon. Ansa continued: “ACCORD administration in Akwa Ibom shall declare a state of emergency on all sectors, spanning from education, economic development, healthcare delivery, agriculture and social security and above all, will ensure money is in the hands and pockets of every family.
“Therefore, the forthcoming 2023 general elections has once again, provided the state and Akwa Ibom electorate with another opportunity to take the necessary steps to make a bold statement in choosing its leadership for the times we live today.
“Any Candidate that splashes money or has unexplained sources of wealth should not even dream of vying for the numero uno seat in Akwa Ibom State. Any candidate who cannot clearly and concisely explain the What, the How, the When, has no business asking for your votes. Any candidate who cannot explicitly and in a plain language lay before you his vision, plan of action, deliverables and timeline, has no business in the Hilltop Mansion.
“Akwa Ibom needs a leader like Engr. Emem Coffee who is visionary and a focused professional. He is a man with passion for service to all and sundry in the 31 Local Government Areas of the State without segregation.” Ansa noted.
The State Chairman of ACCORD used the occasion to commend the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), for what he termed, “faultless and very impressive outings in Imo and Osun States,” saying, the Commission’s adoption of electronic transmission of results for the 2023 general elections was a welcome development which will put a stop to all forms of elections malpractice.
