Re’ 2023 “AKHA: Don’t sabotage our political interest: Ekparakwa Stakeholders warn mischief makers”,

My attention has been drawn to a publication at pages 12 and 13 of The Mail newspaper of Tuesday 24th- Monday 30th August, 2021 titled, “2023” AKHA: Don’t sabotage our political interest: Ekparakwa Stakeholders warn mischief makers”, purported to be the resolution of the meeting of stakeholders of Ekparakwa Ward 7 (9).

I hereby unequivocally disassociate myself from the said publication having not been a party to any such resolution as I have not attended the said meeting.

I did not at any time sign such a resolution nor brief the press. My signature was forged by some undesirable elements to achieve their ulterior and sinister motives.

Actually, I am loyal to the administration of His Excellency, Deacon Udom Emmanuel and highly commend him for the infrastructural development in the State and Oruk Anam Local Government Area in particular. I also appreciate his untiring effort in ensuring the security of life and property of the people of the State.

However, I stand by the position of the meeting held on 21st August, 2021 at Chief Sonni Udom’s Compound, Ukpom Edem Inyang to which I was duly invited and which I attended, such having been duly convened by Ekparakwa Ward 7 (9)’s Chairman in the person of Mr. Anthony Udo.

The political position taken by the meeting as encapsulated in the resolution adopted, basically was anchored on the earlier resolution of the Oruk Anam Chapter Caucus of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2020, which zoned the 2023 State House of Assembly seat to Oruk axis of the Local Government Area. It therefore became unarguably open for any aspirants from Oruk zone to seek the position in 2023.

The general public, especially the people of Ekparakwa Ward 7(9) are hereby warned to beware of the sinister motives of the elements who forged my signature and mischievously used my name in the articles herein before referred to at pages 12 and 13 of the said The Mail Newspaper.

Meanwhile, I have briefed my lawyers to begin the legal process against the false publication and all those behind it.

Signed:

Dr. Udoma Bob Ekarika,
