Allegedly plots arrest of Ex CoS

It appears Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State is not resting on his oars anytime soon in his frantic and desperate bid to ensure that his immediate- past Chief of Staff, Akparawa Ephraim Inyangeyen’s image and record while serving on the State Government’s cabinet are stained.
Investigations have revealed that the State governor and his proxies have allegedly been on the radar of Barr. Uloma Umozurike of the Human Rights Commission, Akwa Ibom State, canvassing for petition against the former Commissioner for Works.
Three media aides of the governor who jointly addressed a press briefing, Monday, 7th March, 2022, in a reckless show of their excitement reportedly said, “This Ephraim Inyang that people are celebrating will be arrested soon. The governor has extracted words from Barr. Umozurike targeted at raking up petitions written against Inyangeyen”.
According to them, the petitions are in connection with properties said to have been demolished by Inyangeyen in his days as Commissioner for Works.
Others still within government circle who commented on the matter however wondered why the governor has suddenly realized the need for this, two years after Inyangeyen had left the Ministry of Works and barely two weeks after leaving as CoS.
It was gathered that the Akwa Ibom Human Rights Commission boss is yet to have an audience with the governor or any of his proxies.
But sources say the meeting may take place this week.
A member of the Human Rights Commission hinted that the governor is allegedly looking for any petition that relates to any human rights abuse traced to Ephraim Inyangeyen while he served.
A public affairs commentator who was contacted on the possible legal implications to the issue, said, it was shocking that the governor could be so petty, considering that Inyangeyen of course was acting on behalf of government as Commissioner for works. He said, “Even as it stands, I wonder if the governor before now had even discussed such a matter, if any, with the said Inyangeyen or even till this moment. If you asked me, it’s a chase after the wind, solely because of latest development”.
Efforts by our reporter to reach Inyangeyen for his comments over the matter proved abortive.
