For his massive contribution towards the growth and development of the gospel of Christ, Akwa Ibom Gospel Ministers Network In Diaspora (AKGOMIND), over the weekend honoured a U. S. based Business mogul, Elder Umoren Etim Okon with an Award of Excellence.
The honour was bestowed on Elder Okon at Eagles Strength Int’l Ministry, No. 11, Urua Ekpa Road, Uyo at the end of a 3-day Conference organized by the Organization.
The event which began on Wednesday, 13th, and ended on 15th, (Friday) October, 2021 with an AWard Night, was tagged; “Oh Lord, let no evil prevail in our lives”.
According to the group, Elder Okon, popularly known as ‘Dumbra’ was considered for the Award following his passion and immensely contributions toward propagating the gospel as well as his commitment towards the growth of humanity.
Speaking while presenting the Award, the President of the Group, Archbishop Dr. David Okponoesip particularly appreciated Elder Godwin Okon for his continuous commitment and dedication to the services of God and humanity.
Archbishop Okponoesip noted that academic or political Awards can never be compared to the one presented by the body of Christ, which he said; “it’s converse blessings to whoever is being given”.
While describing AKGOMIND as “a prestigious Christian Ministerial body” that has impacted discipline in its activities, Archbishop Okponoesip said Dumbra, as fondly called, is a man of integrity who has invested so much in building humanity.
Responding immediately after receiving the award, Elder Okon who was full of excitement officially dedicated the award to God Almighty, noting that without Him, he (Okon) couldn’t have succeeded in anyway.
He appreciated God for keeping him alive.
Hear him; “God created everyone of us for a purposes, and such purposes include to show love and care to each other. I really thank God for the grace given to fulfill some of the purposes He created us for.”
He specifically thanked the leadership and members of the organization for finding him fit to be honoured, while beseeching God to strengthen them with wisdom, abundant lives and blessings.
However, amongst other eminent Akwa Ibomites honoured alongside the Effiat Offot business magnet (Dumbra) were Pastor Umo Eno – Commissioner in-charge of Lands and Water Resources Ministry in Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Sylvia Ekong, the Vice Chairman of Uyo Local Government Area and others.
