Akpabio Opens Up On Purported Withdrawal From Senate presidency

Former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs and Senator-Elect for Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial District, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has described his purported withdrawal from the Senate Presidency as the handiwork of professional blackmailers sponsored from the pit of hell.

A statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Jackson Udom quoted the former Senate Minority Leader as saying, ” Please tell them that the story is complete falsehood and blackmail cooked and served from the pit of hell.

” These tissues of lies lack substance and only exist in the minds of its purveyors and backers. Such lies should be discountenanced.”

The 60 year old has served as a Commissioner in two Ministries before he was elected twice as the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State.

He later got the mandate of the people of his Senatorial District to represent Akwa Ibom Northwest at the Upper chamber of the National Assembly, where he was also elected the Senate Minority Leader by his colleagues in the 8th National Assembly.

“The Uncommon Transformer” as he is fondly called, has served in the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari as Minister of the Niger Delta Affairs before he resigned because of his ambition to succeed Mr. President. Akpabio later stepped down for Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu on the day of his party (APC) presidential primaries and picked the Senatorial ticket, contested the general election and won for a second term in office to serve in the 10th National Assembly.
