Akwa Ibom 2023: Accord Party Opens Up On Alleged Pact With PDP

ACCORD party in Akwa Ibom, on Wednesday, reacted to news making the rounds that its Governorship Candidate in the State, Engr. Emem Coffie, was holding a substitutive position for the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP).

The party has however, described the story as “false and embarrassing.”

The State Chairman of ACCORD; Rt. Hon. Martins Inyang Ansa, at a press briefing in Uyo, stated unequivocally that, their Governorship Candidate has no intention to step down for anybody under any guise as widely speculated in some quarters.

His words: ” I want to state here unequivocally that Accord (Party) in Akwa Ibom State has never received a dime from the State Government nor an individual or group of individuals.

“Such malicious and despiteful story is aimed at destroying the core values of this great party and the personae of Engr. Emem Coffie, before the right thinking members of the society. This is totally false and malicious….All members of Accord Party, supporters and the general public should please take note.”

Rt. Hon. Ansa used the occasion to show appreciation to members of the party for their sincere support, steadfastness, trust and commitment before, during and after the just concluded Primary elections which produced Governorship, State and National Assemblies candidates of ACCORD.

While assuring Akwa Ibomites that his party will produce the next Governor of the State and representatives in the State and National Assemblies in 2023, the party’s helmsman charged all and sundry to join the party. He boasted, “we are the solution providers to the challenges of our dear State.”
