Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in Akwa Ibom State, Hon. Frank Archibong, Exco Members, stakeholders and party faithful of the Peoples Democratic Party, Eket Chapter on Thursday, paid a condolence visit to the Executive Chairman of Eket Local Government, Hon. Akan Tommey over the demise of his mother, Deaconess Enobong Ikott who passed away at the age of 76.
The Commissioner in his short but emotionally ridden speech paid glowing tribute to nne Ikott for helping mould a strong, unifying, passionate but visionary driven family bounded by love as exhibited by the Chairman, his siblings and relatives.
He said, mothers are major players towards building any responsible family and must not be joked with.
He prayed that the soul of the departed rest in peace.
In his part, the chapter Chairman of the party, Abong Iwaad Emmanuel Mbong , described the late Matriarch as a hardworking, God fearing and virtuous woman whose qualities are imbibed in the character of the kids, praying God to give the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
Responding, the Chairman of Eket, Hon. Akan Tommey thanked the Commissioner, the party stakeholders and faithfuls for the visit, saying, members of the bereaved family are console with the fact that their late mother lived a life worth emulating.
He further appreciated the visitors for the show of love despite their busy schedules, praying God to protect and provide for all their needs.
