…announces commencement of the second phase
The member representing Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency, Rep. Unyime Idem has commended the speedy completion of phase one of the 2.8km Ikot Akpa Nkuk/Nyak Iba/Usung Atiat/Ikot Akpa Idem/Ikot Udombang road in Ukanafun Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
Idem made this commendation today July 1, 2022, while on an inspection visit to the road. He commended the Contractor handling the road construction, Maridiq Construction, for a job well done and for delivering the task ahead of completion time.
The jinx breaking performer also announced the immediate commencement of the second phase of the road urging the contractor to ensure that the road is delivered within scheduled time of completion.
Recall that on May 6, 2022, Rep Idem had flagged off the construction of the 2.8km Ikot Akpa Nkuk/Nyak Iba/Usung Atiat/Ikot Akpa Idem/Ikot Udombang road with completion time set for three months. It is however heartwarming to note that the contractor delivered the road within 2 months, one month ahead of completion.
Idem reiterated his resolve to connect rural communities in the federal constituency with a good road network to boost rural economy and assist farmers evacuate their farm produce to city centres. While thanking the benefiting communities for their cooperation with the contractor, he urged them to remain peaceful, united and to continue cooperate with the contractors for the timely and successful completion of the second phase.
Other roads to be constructed soon to include Amiamiaowo – Akpan Assiek Market Road, Police Station/Ikot Udo Obobo/Idung Eka Uyo/Ikot Akpa Nkuk road and Motor Park Road. Others are NIFOR Sub Station Road and Ikot Ukpongeren bridge, in Oruk Anam Local Government Area.
