Akwa Ibom Gov’s Wife Intervenes in Case of 22-Year-Old Mother Feeding Children with Chicken, Fish Feeds

Henshaw NYONG, Uyo.

Wife of the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Patience Umo Eno, has responded to a disturbing story circulating on social media about a 22-year-old mother, Grace Udeme Esenowo, from Ikot Abia, Okon Eket, who has been forced to feed her four children with chicken and fish feed due to extreme poverty.

The story, initially shared by Queen Praise Uzoma on Instagram, has garnered significant attention and led to an outpouring of support, raising over a million naira in donations.

Acknowledging the gravity of the situation, Pastor Patience Eno, in a press release issued on Tuesday by her Press Secretary, Comrade Uduak Ekong, directed her NGO, the Golden Initiative For All (GIFA), along with her aides, to collaborate with the Ministry of Women Affairs and female stakeholders in Eket. The aim, the release said, is to create a comprehensive support plan for Grace and her children.

As an initial step, the First Lady of Akwa Ibom has personally donated Five Hundred Thousand Naira to assist in securing immediate accommodation, food supplies, and other essential needs for the family.

She also expressed her gratitude to Queen Praise for bringing this issue to light and to all the individuals and organizations who have contributed to the cause.

TheHILL will bring further updates on the support plan for Grace and her children in the coming days.
