AKWA IBOM LAWMAKER UPGRADES EDUCATION STANDARD, AS INTERMINISTERIAL PROJECTS GET INAUGURATED

In his efforts to upgrade the standard of education in his constituency, the lawmaker representing Itu State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly on Wednesday inaugurated some educational projects at the Community Secondary Commercial School (COMSECOM) in Ibiaku Itam II.

Some of the constituency projects of the Assemblyman inaugurated at the well-attended event held at COMSECOM were the fully furnished Principal’s Office and a borehole.

Apart from the aforementioned projects, no fewer than twenty-six (26) completed projects supervised by the InterMinisterial Direct Labour Co-ordinating Committee (IMDLCC) were inaugurated by the State Governor; Mr. Udom Emmanuel,  while a total of six (6) other projects were ongoing in the area.

Hon. Edidem, eulogized by various Speakers at the event for his people-oriented programmes aimed at empowering his constituents, particularly in the area of quality educational facilities in the constituency, lauded Governor Udom Emmanuel for investing massively in education.

According to him, the Community Secondary Commercial School, Ibiaku Itam, Ntiat Itam School, and several other institutions in the area were not only wearing a new look courtesy of the governor but were also upgraded to the best of standards, acknowledging that, “this is a great improvement from the past.”

The Itu lawmaker who commended Mr. Emmanuel for his commitment to the renovation of Schools and infrastructural development across the State assured that his Constituents who are the direct beneficiaries of the governor’s benevolence will continue to support his Completion Agenda.

“In a very special way, Your Excellency, permit me to also thank you for leading Akwa Ibom to the world and bringing the world to Akwa Ibom through various Foreign Direct investments and ensuring that there’s total peace in the State,” he said.

 

Earlier, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Interministerial Projects, Prince Sampson Idiong, had expressed appreciation to Governor Emmanuel for his developmental strides not just in Itu, but other thirty (30) Local Government Areas of the State.

Responding, the State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel, lauded the people of Itu for their unflinching support to his administration from inception in 2015 till date.

Represented by the Honourable Commissioner for Economic Development and Ibom Deep Seaport, Mr. Akan Okon, the Governor noted that his government will continue to equip the next generation of leaders saying the concept was sacrosanct.

Goodwill message came from the Executive Chairman Itu Local Government Council; Barr. Etetim Onuk, Political Leader of the area; Senator Anietie Okon, the representative of women and former SSG; Obonganwan Grace Ekong and a Youth Leader; Hon Otobong Ekong.

Present at the event were Mr. Nsikan Linus Nkan – Commissioner for Finance, Hon. Prince Ukpong Akpabio, Honourable Commissioner for Investment, Commerce, and Industry, Akparawa Ini Ememobong, Commissioner for Information & Strategy, Special Assistant to Governor on Public Affairs; Sir Raphael Edem, former Secretary to State Government, Obonganwan Grace Ekong, Political Leader of ITU and Pioneer Publicity and Organising Secretary of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Distinguished Senator Anietie Okon, stakeholders, political and thought-leaders, students, women, and youth groups.
