Imo with some of his teammates…

The goal of the Ati Annang Foundation Football Cup, a yearly competition organized by the Ati Annang socio-cultural organization in Akwa Ibom State to discover young talents in the State that will surpass that of world-renowned players like Messi, Ronaldo, Michel has been fulfilled with a product of the group’s tournament, Imo Obot aka (Achor) making Nigeria’s super eagles 23 man list for Nigeria-Mexico friendly International match slated for next week in the United State of America.

The inclusion of Imo, into the eagle’s list has justified the determination of the socio-cultural group to among other things curb restiveness in the state and Niger Delta region.

Recall at the last event in 2019, where a total of 77 schools drawn from Secondary Schools in Akwa Ibom state, the Chairman, Board of Trustees of the group, Sir Emem Akpabio said that with the consistency of the tournament, he was certain that it would produce stars that will compete favorably both at the national and international level.

Imo, who will be adorning the Nigerian jersey for the first time was captain of Secondary Commercial School, Ukana West in the 2017 and 2018 Ati Annang Foundation football tournament and was one of the attendees in the Barcelona Academy sponsored by Ati Annang Foundation. He started his professional career with Akwa Starlet (Dakkada FC) Uyo before he moved to Enyimba FC where he is plying his trade in the premier division in Nigeria.

Imo Obot is one of the few discoveries of the Ati Annang foundation football competition. The competition did not hold in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic that hit various countries of the world.
