The Akwa Ibom State Youth Caucus, which is the umbrella body of political conscious youth leaders in the State has reaffirmed their unreserved allegiance and total support to the cutting edge leadership of Governor Udom Emmanuel whose pragmatic approach to governance is remarkably adjudged considering his priority to youth development.
In a well attended meeting of the State Executive and Chapter Chairmen of the youth formation held recently at the instance of the SSA to the Governor on Youth Matters, Mr. Aniefiok Iwaudofia who is also the Chairman of the youth platform said,”:Youth Caucus is systematically undergoing self reinvention and strategic repositioning to achieve the objectives of the youth structure that has been highly regarded as a reliable source of youth inclusion in governance, leadership prepping and government support base since the era of Obong Victor Attah.
According to Mr. Aniefiok Iwaudofia, ” Youth Caucus has been institutionalized as the driver of the youth leadership system with membership across all the local government areas in the State and as such, the Governor places much premium on the structure that has transcended the time with political value and broad based functionalities.
He reiterated that the process of rejigging the youth caucus is strategically driven to ensure the formidable youth structure remains the leading voice of the youths, reliable political omnibus and negotiation platform that will guarantee youth relevance in the polity.
As part of his inspiring speech, Mr. Iwaudofia said that Gov. Udom Emmanuel has comparatively given more attention to the youths and as such, his leadership must be encouraged to land successfully.
He solicited the continuous support of the youths even as 2023 is approaching. He reassured that more youth interests, yearnings and aspirations shall be achieved before the expiration of the present administration.
Mr. Iwaudofia also eulogized Governor Udom Emmanuel for his love to have defrayed four months of arrears to youth caucus despite national economic downturn and averred that the act is a convincing sign of renewed commitment.
In a goodwill remark by the Chief Whip of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly and immediate past Chairman of Youth Caucus, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Bassey, ‘ the lawmaker charged the youth leaders to remain supportive to the administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel who has done enormous to earn the trust of the people through capacity building, political appointments and above all, industrialization, which has set a foundation for economic growth and development of the people.
