Senator Albert Bassey Akpan, who emerged the governorship candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) on August 4, 2022 in Akwa Ibom State will unveil his deputy today, August 5, 2022.
The event is expected to take place at the YPP State Secretariat on Edet Akpan Avenue, Uyo, by midday.
By law, every gubernatorial candidate must run on a joint ticket with a deputy governorship candidate.
Although the identity of the nominee is still under wraps, it was learnt that the senator, after wide consultations, beamed his searchlight within the five local governments of Oro nation.
After the public announcement of the deputy governorship candidate, the name along with that of the governorship candidate, will be sent to the Independent Electoral Commission ( INEC) for the mandatory completion of electoral formalities.
