Akwa United Football Club of Uyo on Sunday moved to the pinnacle of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) following a 2-1 win against Sunshine Stars in the Match-Day 20 game.
Charles Atshimene gave the Promise Keepers the lead on 21 minutes, while Sadeeq Yusuf equalised for Sunshine Stars 11 minutes later.
Seth Mayi netted the winning goal for the Uyo based side at the 72nd minute.
Akwa United currently occupy top spot on the table with 37 points from 20 games.
Sunshine Stars are now without a win in their last 13 games.
