Players of Akwa United Football Club of Akwa Ibom State escaped death on Friday morning as the bus conveying the team to Kaduna for their NPFL Match-day 15 game against Jigawa Golden Stars was involved in an accident.
Sources confirmed to TheHILL that the unfortunate mishap took place along Ezionye Express road in Enugu.
A player who did not want to be mentioned because he is not the Club’s spokesperson told TheHILL he did not know whether the scheduled match on Sunday by 4pm will be postponed or not, saying “the management is in communication with Abuja for further action”.
