Albinos In Akwa Ibom Elect New EXCO

The Albinos in Akwa Ibom State have come together to form a cluster with the election of a new executive.

The new executive members were sworn in by the Director of Legal in the ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Barr. Bassey Ekah.

The commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Dr Ini Adiakpan in a remark congratulated them on the outcome of the elections, saying it was the beginning of their cluster and the beginning of their inclusion in Government’s plans.

The Commissioner appreciated the Governor of the State, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, saying that the election was made possible by the governor who she said is passionate about the Albinos and all persons with disabilities in the State.

She also appreciated the wife of the Governor who has played a great role in touching the lives of people with disabilities and the vulnerable in the State.

Dr. Adiakpan intimated the cluster saying that, they are the ones to articulate the message of Albinism which will make the cluster visible and acceptable.

According to her, its is their duty to sensitize the public and Albinos on how to protect themselves from harm, which starts with wearing the hat to shield them from the sun rays.

Meanwhile, Nnene Effiong Bassey from Ikot Abasi LGA emerged the State chairperson of the Albino cluster.
