After many months of rumour and speculations, Governor of Cross River State; Prof Ben Ayade, has finally defected from the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The governor announced his decision this morning at a meeting with six APC governors who visited him at the Government House in Calabar.
Governors present at the meeting were; Yobe State Governor; Mai Mala Buni, who is also the National Caretaker Committee chairman of the APC. Others are: Kebbi State Governor; Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, Imo; Hope Uzodinma, Plateau; Simon Lalong, Jigawa; Mohammed Badaru Abubakar and Ekiti State Governor; Kayode Fayemi.
An impeccable source in Government House, Calabar, informed TheHILL that Prof Ayade alongside APC bigwigs will this evening meet with some stakeholders of Cross River politics on the benefits of joining the ruling party.
