Meet Mrs. Lydia Udohh, Special Assistant to Akwa Ibom State Governor on Marketing and Brand Management. Call her “The Light Bearer” of the Udom Emmanuel-led administration.
This is one woman who is doing so well in driving the DAKKADA vision and interpreting Governor Udom Emmanuel’s CompletionAgenda through the Dakkada Women Empowerment and Mentorship Programme (DWEMP).
DWEMP is an initiative targeted at helping women in rural communities to achieve economic sustainability and entrepreneurial development by equipping them with the necessary skills to ensure their participation in the economic development of their various communities.
Being the driver of this life-touching and laudable initiative, Mrs. Lydia Udoh has been consistent, and her office has successfully synergized the progress and plans of the Government with Akwaibomites in rural communities.
Having seen a “Beautiful Akwa Ibom” beyond money-sharing, Akwa Ibom women have been encouraged through DWEMP’s numerous vocational training, skills acquisition, and sustainable empowerment.
Recently, #TheDWEMPTeam was in Mbo to train women and youths in Confectionery, Cosmetology, Soap making, Hair Styling, Make-up, and Tailoring. About 45 women graduated from the training programme.
Not only did they graduate, but DWEMP also presented them with start-up packs that would ensure the smooth take-off of their businesses!
For every successful administration, your impact must be felt everywhere, especially at the grassroots. The enthusiasm seen on the faces of these women suggests that these efforts must be sustained for the future.
In all, it is widely believed that Governor Udom Emmanuel will land well, beyond expectations and against criticisms.
Programmes like Dakkada Women Empowerment and Mentorship Programme (DWEMP), driven by Mrs. Lydia Udoh, will be a part of the Governor’s success story when his milestones and achievements shall be massively celebrated.
