Continue in the Winning Trajectory of PDP, Akpan Urges Okobo Candidates

Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Akwa Ibom State chapter, Hon. Aniekan Akpan, has called on candidates in Okobo Local Government Area to maintain the party’s winning streak, stressing that the legacy of success must be upheld as the party flags off its campaign tour in the area.

Hon. Akpan, who gave the charge in Okobo at a well-attended gathering of party stakeholders from Akwa Ibom South Senatorial District, including elders, women, and youth, before presenting the party’s flag to the PDP chairmanship candidate, Hon. George Henshaw, and the 11 councilorship candidates, applauded the stakeholders for their unwavering commitment to the party.

The former commissioner and House of Assembly member tasked the candidates to ensure that the dominance of the PDP in Okobo continues, reminding them that the people are looking to the party for sustained progress and effective leadership.

Echoing the party chairman’s charge, Senator Ekong Sampson, representing Akwa Ibom South Senatorial District, and Hon. Martin Esin, member, Oron Federal Constituency, urged the electorate to remain loyal to the PDP, citing the visible development and progress made under the leadership of the party.

The National Assembly members assured that with the right support, the people of Okobo, who are adequately favoured by the administration of Governor Umo Eno, would continue to benefit from the ARISE agenda.

Responding on behalf of the candidates, the PDP chairmanship candidate for Okobo LGA, Hon. George Henshaw, expressed gratitude for the trust placed in them and pledged to ensure the continued success of the PDP in the October 5, 2024 elections.

He reassured the people of Okobo that their faith in the PDP would lead to further progress and development for the local government.
