EASTER: Ibiono Ibom Chairman Preaches Love, Unity

 

…Urges All To Respect Constituted Authorities

Executive Chairman of Ibiono Ibom Local Government Council, Hon. Ekopimo Polycarp Edet, has called on Akwa Ibomites to be kind, open-hearted, and accommodating to one another.

The Council boss, in his Easter message to all Christians on Friday morning, also urged all and sundry, irrespective of political party affiliation and religion to be united, stressing that oneness and unity of purpose would engender growth and uplift the State as the administration of Pastor Umo Eno sets in May 29.

Easter, which is the season of the remembrance of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ marks the trial, sacrifice, victory and completion of the divine mandate of the author of the Christian faith, according to the Ibiono Ibom Chairman.

He used the opportunity and appealed all to practice the Christian virtues of sacrifice, patience, love and abiding faith in order for us as Akwa Ibomites to have a better tomorrow which has been symbolized in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

He said, “My dear compatriots, the essence of Easter would be lost except we allow the sacrificial death and unstoppable resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ to illuminate the dark sides of our souls.

“The lesson of Jesus’ death and resurrection as explained in the Holy Bible is a demonstration of love and selflessness and as beneficiaries of God’s undying love, we most extend same to our fellow human, no matter any vicissitude.

“On this occasion of Easter feast, I want to enjoin our Christian brothers and sisters in Ibiono Ibom, Akwa Ibom State and the world over to continue to demonstrate love, promote peace and show good neighbourliness.”

While using the opportunity to urge all to respect and support all constituted authorities, as every leaders are ordained by God, Hon Ekopimo P. Edet, wished all christians a happy Easter.
