The Senator-Elect for the Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial District and Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey, has congratulated Muslims in the state on their successful journey of faith, discipline, peace and love throughout the month of Ramadan.
The Senator-Elect, who made this known on Friday through a statement, urged the Muslims to ensure that the great virtues of peace, love, forgiveness, sacrifice and patriotism imbibed during the Ramadan Fast are felt in every aspect of our state development and progress beyond the holy month.
He called on the Muslims to keep praying for Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria, maintaining that “the continuous prayer for the peace, security, and progress of our dear state and nation would surely turn the fortunes of Akwa Ibom and Nigeria around.”
While urging those celebrating to remember the poor and needy in the society, the Senator-Elect further wished the Muslim faithful and the nation a happy Eid El-Fitri celebration.
