The candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) in Akwa Ibom South Senatorial District, Mr. Ephraim Akparawa Inyang-Eyen, has officially inaugurated his Senatorial Campaign Council, tagged: “Redemption 2023”
The ceremony took place earlier today at his Ikot Ebiere country home, ONNA Local Government Area.
The Campaign Council which is headed by Barr. Jerry Akpan as Chairman, also has Chief Jack Udota (Deputy Chairman), Dr. Asukwo Anwana (Director-General), Asukpa Ulaeto(Deputy-General), and Hon. Joshua Ndoho and Pastor Bassey Ekpo as Secretary General and Assistant Secretary respectively.
Other principal members are Hon. Ufot Nkangude (Principal Adviser), Navy Common. Richard Udoh rtd.(Adviser Security), Prof. Elijah John (Adviser, Mobilization), Dr. Imowo Udobia (Director, Mobilization) and his deputy, Chief Samuel Umoh, etc.
Highpoint of the event was the swearing-in of members of the Campaign Council by the State Chairman of YPP, Apostle Nyeneime Andy, who also received and welcome into the YPP family 1,078 defectors from other parties who were also issued membership cards.
In his acceptance speech, Chairman of the Campaign Council, Barr. Jerry Akpan, assured Inyang-Eyen and other members of the party of their readiness to work with resounding success that ultimately shall see Inyangeyen through to the National Assembly.
Speaking earlier, Mr Ephraim Inyang-Eyen, a frontline contestant and household name in Akwa Ibom politics, said the inauguration of the 57-member campaign machinery, spread across the 12 local government areas in the three federal constituencies making the Senatorial District, became necessary for effective running of the campaigns.
It will be recalled that Inyang-Eyen, about a fortnight ago, led other YPP candidates across all levels for the flag-off of campaign in the Senatorial district.
Present at the event were other YPP candidates, ward Chairmen, among others.
According to the timetable of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), campaigns for the Senatorial election is expected to end in February 2023.
