Governor Udom Emmanuel has been described by Mr Frank Archibong, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs as a leader who does not play politics with the welfare of its people.

The Commissioner stated this when a socio-Political structure for retired men and women, known as Akwa Ibom State Retirees Initiative(AKRI) paid a courtesy call on him in his office, Thursday, 17th June, 2021.

The Chieftaincy Affairs Boss appreciated the Group for finding it worthy of visiting the Ministry and thanked them for recognizing the giant strides of the Governor and his efforts at ensuring that pensioners are well taken care of.

He assured the group of Governor Emmanuel’s continuous support to the retirees and the elders, urging them not to relent on its constant prayer, words of wisdom and support for the State and the Governor.

Earlier on, the group through its President lauded the Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel for Prioritizing Payment of Pension, Gratuities and Workers welfare.

In an address presented by the President of the group, Elder Ntiedo Ema, the group also appreciated the Governor for finding Mr Archibong worthy of appointment as a Commissioner in the Ministry.

“Let us also use this opportunity to thank His Excellency, Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel for finding you so worthy to serve in his cabinet with confidence of
effective service delivery.

” We further appreciate His Excellency for all he has done for retirees in the State, for instance, the regular payment of pensions, gratuities, and other entitlements.

Most importantly, the recent screening for payment of the retired primary school teachers which almost became an issue in the state.

We are also grateful for the numerous life-touching projects in the state the industries, good roads, hospitals and school innovation and equipment, the peace and security in the state etc,” the group said.

The meeting had in attendance the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Elder Ini Ikie.
