GOV. EMMANUEL PROMISES MORE DEVELOPMENTAL PROJECTS IN ITU LGA

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel, has said he will continue to deliver on his campaign promises to the people of Itu Local Government Area.

Speaking at the Commissioning of 26 inter-ministerial projects in Itu LGA, the Governor said he won’t relent efforts in ensuring that Itu people enjoy more developmental projects.

Represented by the Commissioner for Economic Development and Ibom Deep Seaport, Mr Akan Okon, Governor Emmanuel maintained that his administration will continue to boost the quality of education across the state.

While expressing happiness over the quality of inter-ministerial jobs done in public primarily schools, the State Chief Executive described education as one of the best gifts to humanity.

“His Excellency believes that the best gift you can give to any individual is education. The Governor loves you (Itu people). That his why he has made possible various projects in Itu. We have the Industrial Park that has several industries operating, bringing employment to our people”, he said.

The Governor also vowed to complete the Car Assembling Plant situated in Itu LGA, adding he would not leave any stone unturned in his bid to ensure that young people are meaningfully engaged.

“I am sure that a lot of people have given up hope in respect of the Automobile Plant in Ikot Ukap. But as you can see, God moves very fast. By the grace of God, we will have vehicles coming out from there before the end of this year.

“Our young men (and women) are very smart and we’ll continue to give them opportunities, so they can work, instead of begging for a living”, he noted.

Dignitaries at the well attended event included the Commissioner for Finance, Mr, Linus Nkan, his Information and Strategy counterpart, Comrade Ini Ememobong, Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Prince Ukpong Akpabio, Senator Anietie Okon, Member representing Itu State Constituency, Hon. Kufreabasi Edidem, Special Assistant to the Governor on Inter-Ministerial, Prince Sampson Idiong, amongst others.

Projects commissioned included renovation of classroom blocks, electrification, borehole/water reticulation, perimeter fencing etc, at different locations in Itu LGA.
