Governor’s Aide Extols Pastor Eno on Youth Engagement Initiatives

 

Special Assistant to Governor Umo Eno on Media, Ms. Aniebiet Francis, has commended Governor Umo Eno for his significant contributions to youth empowerment, since assumption of office on May 29, 2023.

Ms. Francis, who fielded questions from Journalists recently at the Uyo Township Stadium, during the Youth Appreciation Rally, praised Akwa Ibom State Chief Executive, for his extensive efforts to engage and support youths of the State

The Ikot Ekpene born Nollywood star and movie producer specifically noted the Governor’s successful rollout of the Ibom Leadership and Entrepreneurial Development (IBOM-LED) programme, which has benefitted over 2,000 sons and daughters of the State.

The initiative, according to the Governor’s aide includes educational and business support grants for undergraduates, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), and persons with disabilities, amongst others.

Ms. Francis described the leadership style of her boss as visionary, emphasizing the Governor’s commitment to inclusive development and strategic investment in human capital. These programmes, she asserted, have specifically addressed the aspirations of the youths and contributed to the state’s economic and governance advancement.

The multiple award winning actor also highlighted Governor Eno’s allocation of N310 million to support youth-oriented projects and opportunities, a move she noted will mitigate unemployment and enhance grassroots engagement.

She used the occasion to eulogize the Cleric-turned-Governor for appointing over 3,000 youths into the Ibom Community Watch scheme and for launching an employment portal aimed at preparing young individuals for future roles in the state civil service, among several initiatives and programmes.

Ms. Francis also commended Pastor Eno for the increase in bursaries for students, particularly those in Medicine, Law, and postgraduate studies, stressing that, the development was testament to her boss’ dedication to educational growth and professional development as enshrined in the ARISE agenda.

While reaffirming her support for Governor Umo Eno’s administration, Francis, pledged to always assist in ensuring the sustainability and expansion of the impactful programmes and projects of her boss.
