Ide Owodiong: A role model, instrumental to Development in our Community, State – Linus Nkan

Accolades and encomiums have continued to trail Obong Ide Owodiong Idemeko who recently retired from the services of Exxon Mobil after three decades of meritorious service.

The latest came from Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Nsikan Linus Nkan who described him as a role model for youths and unparallel philanthropist.

According to Nkan, who stated this during the Thanksgiving and Reception ceremony held over the weekend at Nkop Ndua Erong ibesikpo Asutan country home of Ide Owodiong, “We are proud to have you successfully undertake your career path in an international oil conglomerate like Exxon Mobil and retired without any blemish after three decades, it shows you are a man of character and integrity.

He further explained, “Exxon Mobil is a company with zero tolerance for errors, for indiscipline or any form of craft, it is one company governed by international standards”.

The finance commissioner described Ide Owodiong as an outstanding role model for today’s youths, “I encourage Akwa ibom youths to see Ide as a leader, a mentor and a role model. Ide stands for excellence and he is a professional, he is instrumental to so many good things we have in our dear state today and he is worthy of celebrating”

Nkan recalled that Ide Owodiong has through his non government organization Wodiong-Senie foundation positively impacted the society at large through various provisions for the indigent members of the society.

He highlighted, “He has used his foundation to spread love and succor to the society. He is very resourceful and our International Ambassador, we need him to come and work for Ibesikpo Asutan and Akwa Ibom State. He is a Man of Excellence and a great Philanthropist; we need to encourage him to do more for Akwa ibom State and her people.

The finance Commissioner who donated one Million naira to Wodiong- Senie foundation, said “I make this donation for you to continue your good works for humanity, Woding-Senie foundation has helped the sick, the hopeless, orphans and several indigent members of the society”.
