As party chieftains and Stakeholders continue to celebrate the emergence and swearing-in of the Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC), Akwa Ibom State, Obong Stephen Ntukekpo, Ikono Chapter and all Wards Officers in the area, have congratulated the new party helmsman and pledged their support.
In the same vein, the entire APC structure in Ikono, have passed a vote of confidence in, and adopted the Minister, Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio, as the leader of the party in Akwa Ibom.
Rising from an enlarged Chapter and Ward Executives meeting on Sunday at Ibiaku Ntok Okpo residence of a chieftain of the party; Rt. Hon. Victor Udofia, the entire APC officers in a duly signed communiqué stated unequivocally that they have received with immense joy, the news of the judgement of An Abuja High Court, which validated their votes that elected the Obong Stephen Ntukekpo’s Led State Executive Of the Party and the subsequent swearing-in by the National Chairman of APC, Senator Adamu Abdullahi and his Exco.
Part of the communiqué read:
“That, We The Enlarged Chapter and Ward Executive Committees do Congratulate Our State Chairman, Obong Stephen Leo Ntukekpo And His Entire State Executive Committee, for we know the new EXCO is Saddled With The Responsibility Of Repositioning Our Great Party For All Round Victory Come 2023.
“That, We The Above Party Exco Members have Passed A Vote Of Confidence And Pledged Our Undiluted Loyalty To Our Leader Who Has Proven Beyond Our Expectations As An Uncommon Governor, Uncommon Senator, And Currently, An Uncommon Minister Of The Federal Republic Of Nigeria, Distinguished Senator Godswill Akpabio For Always Standing On The Side Of Justice, Fairness And Equity. We Appreciate The Courageous Steps He Has Taken To Restore Peace In Our Dear Party.

It will be recalled that the Federal High Court sitting at Abuja had recently declared Obong Stephen Ntukekpo as Chairman of the APC in Akwa Ibom State. In deference to the said judgment, the APC had withdrawn its Appeal and same was struck out while the National Chairman of APC, Alhaji Abdullahi Adamu, went on to swear-in Ntukekpo at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.
