IKONO/INI RERUN: Itak Ward Will Honour Pst. Umo Eno By Voting Dr. Glory Edet – ‘Ambassador’ Assures

 

As electorates in Itak Ward, Ikono LGA, are warming up for this Saturday’s supplementary election, the Youth Coordinator of the PDP House of Representatives Candidate in Ikono Ward 5/6, Nsikak Ekanem Udoh, popularly called AMBASSADOR, has expressed optimism that PDP will emerge victorious, urging voters to honour the Governor-elect, Pastor Umo Eno, by voting massively for Dr. Glory Edet.

Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared April 15, 2023 as the date for the conduct of supplement election in seventeen (17) polling units of Itak Ward following reported infractions which necessitated the inability of INEC to declare the winner in the February 25 National assembly election.

The race had two strong contenders; the incumbent Rep., who is contesting on the platform of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) and the candidate of Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) Dr. Glory Edet.

Speaking at a thank you party he organized for some youth who supported and voted for the PDP in the just concluded general elections at Ukpum Ekem Village in Ikono LGA, ‘Ambassador’, himself, the Youth coordinator of Pastor Umo Eno governorship project in his Ward, said Dr Glory Edet is the best candidate who is determined to make good laws that will impact on the federal constituency and also empower all and sundry.

“Mma is very intelligent and smart; she will be able to contribute meaningfully at the green chamber. Again, her experience as a University don stands her out as the best candidate for the job Her track record as a Commissioner is unbeatable. It is in this regard that I urge my brothers and sisters in the affected polling units to go for the best and reject anyone who would only return to Abuja for self aggrandizement,” he stated.

Ambassador Nsikak, who used the occasion to congratulate Pastor Umo Eno on the recent occasion of receiving his certificate of return, urged the electorate to be mindful of the fact that voting for Dr. Glory Edet of the PDP would further cement the confidence which the PDP, through pastor Umo Eno has developed in them as he prepares to start reciprocating the gesture as soon as he is sworn-in on May 29.

The youth leader alongside other youths at the thank-you party used the occasion to eulogize Hon. Itoro Columba, for displaying what they called “true spirit of sportsmanship for the sake of peace in Ikono”.

They equally passed a vote of confidence on the political leader of Ward 6, who doubles as the Chairman, Hospitals Management Board, Dr. Unyime Udo Umoh and Ward Leader, Elder Etim Obot.

Other leaders in the ward which the youth commended for their exemplary lives included, Chairman, Elders Council, Elder Emmanuel Ekanem, Zonal Leader, Elder Aniefiok Akpan, Barr Nsima Akang, Hon Idongesit Jimmy and Barr John Akpan.
