… Pledges Support for Umo Eno, Enoidem other PDP candidates
Executive Chairman, Ini Local Government Council, Rt Hon (Elder) Israel Idaisin, has debunked rumour making the rounds that he is planning to dump the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Idaisin, a former Chapter Chairman of PDP in Ini, told reporters over the weekend at Odoro Ikpe that there was no iota of truth in the said rumour.
The Council boss, who expressed optimism in the victory of all PDP candidates in the forthcoming general elections beginning from Pastor Umo Eno; the governorship candidate, Barr Emmanuel Enoidem; the Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial District candidate, Dr Glory Edet and Deacon Lawrence Udoide, the House of Representatives and Assembly Candidates respectively, stated emphatically that, “dumping the big umbrella was never an option.”
His words: “I do not see any reason why I should leave the PDP for any other political party after benefiting so much from the party. In fact, here in Ini, the people are comfortable with the PDP and I can tell you emphatically that the aspirations of Ini people will be met and achieved under the platform of the PDP”.
Idaisin also used the occasion to eulogize former Governors and most especially, Mr Udom Emmanuel, for the developmental strides achieved by the state, since its creation on September 23, 1987.
In words: “As Akwa Ibomites at home and in the Diaspora roll out their drums to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the State creation, I, Rt Hon Isreal Idaisin, by the special grace of God, the Executive Chairman of Ini Local Government Council, on behalf of the government and good people of Ini, wish to join every Akwa Ibom son and daughter and our friends to mark this epochal event.
“Special commendation goes to the Almighty God who has given the State the best governor since its creation, I am talking about my leader; His Excellency, Mr Udom Emmanuel as Governor at this point in time.
“In the last seven years of his administration, the State has witnessed massive sectoral achievements in Education, Health, Agriculture, Infrastructure, Industrialization, Aviation, Youth & Women Development, and many others.
“I am using this medium to pray God to continually bless, protect and endow our Governor with greater wisdom and also appeal to all sons and daughters of the State to support his completion agenda and succession plan.
“For us in Ini, we are determined and fully prepared to ensure all PDP candidates from Pastor Umo Eno, Barr Enoidem, Dr. Glory Edet down to Deacon Lawrence Udoide, emerge victorious in the forthcoming general elections”
