Mr. Imo-Abasi Jacob has taken over as the Chairman of the Akwa Ibom State owned Airline; Ibom Air.
However, Jacob replaces Otuekong Idongesit Nkanga, who until his death, occupied the office.
A statement issued Friday and signed by Secretary to the Akwa Ibom State Government, Dr. Emmanuel Ekuwem, stated that Jacob’s appointment took effect from Monday 22 March, 2021.
“Mr. Imo-Abasi Jacob who has many years of experience in the financial services sector, is an Executive Director in Akwa Ibom Investment Corporation ( AKICORP). Until this appointment, he was a member of the Board of Ibom Air.
“His Excellency the Governor wishes Mr. Imo-Abasi Jacob the best in his new role and hopes that he will bring more creativity and innovation to bear on the operations of the airline as Ibom Air continues to be a star and a reference point for excellence in the Nigerian aviation industry,” part of the statement read.
