LG Polls: Idy Thomas Foundation Donates Campaign Materials, Cash to Support Ibesikpo Asutan Candidates

 

A renowned humanitarian organization; the Idy Thomas Foundation, has made a significant contribution to the New Era Divine Movement Campaign Organization in support of the chairmanship candidate; Hon. (Evang.) Edidiong Inyang, as well as other councilorship candidates for Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area.

In an epochmaking celebration at his Ibesikpo Asutan abode on Friday evening, the progenitor and sponsor of the foundation, Mr. Idorenyin Thomas, presented 100 face-caps, 100 T-shirts, and 1,000 posters to the candidates. He also donated ₦50,000 to each of the 12 councilorship candidates to support their campaign efforts.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Thomas, who was also elated by the birth of his newborn son earlier that day, expressed his full support for Hon. Inyang, and the PDP councilorship candidates.

The native of Asutan Ward 6 eulogized their dedication to the development of the area even as reaffirmed his commitment to supporting good causes whenever possible.

Mr. Thomas used the occasion to encourage everyone to rally around Hon. Inyang, whom he believes has the capacity to deliver people-centric governance at the grassroots level.

Visibly moved by the gesture, Hon. Edidiong Inyang, popularly called Murphy thanked Mr. Thomas for his generosity. He pledged to acknowledge the foundation’s efforts during his tenure and expressed his commitment to the A.R.I.S.E agenda of Pastor Umo Eno.

Murphy also took the opportunity to thank the Governor for his confidence in his ability to implement the ARISE Agenda in Ibesikpo Asutan, which led to his selection as the sole chairmanship candidate for the October local government elections.

He expressed his gratitude to political leaders, elders, women, and youth for their support, promising to usher in a new era where government services will reach everyone in the area.

The incoming Chairman specifically thanked Mr. Thomas for his many years of philanthropy, citing biblical teachings that emphasize the blessings of giving, and prayed for God’s abundant reward for Mr. Thomas. He vowed to reciprocate the gesture once he assumes office as Executive Chairman of the council.

Evang Inyang, who referred to the councilorship candidates as partners in the development of the area, revealed that one of his first projects would be the construction of a legislative chamber with state-of-the-art facilities for them to sit and make laws for the progress of the area. He also promised to prioritize their welfare.

Various speakers at the event, including the Director General of the 5 over 5 Campaign, Hon. Etubom David Jackson; SA on Local Media to the Governor, Comrade Ernest Akpan; DG of the New Era Divine Movement Campaign Organization, Dr. Edidiong Bosco; former Councillor for Ibesikpo Ward 1, Hon. Etebong Okon; and Mr. Ubong Amamkpa, among others, praised Mr. Thomas for his consistent support for the people of Ibesikpo Asutan, Akwa Ibom, and beyond.

Meanwhile the event featured the decoration of Hon. (Evang.) Inyang with the branded T-shirt and cap, along with the presentation of campaign posters. The incoming councillors were also decorated by the chairmanship candidate. Attendees enjoyed an abundance of food, suya, and assorted drinks.
