Akwa Ibom State Government has called on residents to work towards the maintenance of a cleaner environment at all times.
The Chairman of the State Environmental Protection and Waste Management Agency (AKSEPWMA), Obong Prince Ikim, gave the charge on Monday while exchanging views with newsmen at the sidelines of desilting of drainages and waste evacuation exercise.
The AKSEPWMA boss assured that their workers and waste managers would not leave any stone unturned in the quest to ensure a filth-free state.
Prince Ikim, who attributed the four consecutive years that Akwa Ibom emerged as the cleanest state in the country to the innovative models and initiatives factored in waste management and environmental protection by his administration in 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021, however, appealed to residents to help the agency in her onerous task by keeping to the
time regime for dumping of refuse which is from 6pm to 6am.
