Governorship candidate of ACCORD in Akwa Ibom State, Engr. Emem Coffie, has congratulated Nigeria and Nigerians on the occasion of the 62nd independence anniversary of the country.

The COREN certified Engineer in a press release made available to Journalists in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, expressed great hopes for a better future in the years ahead and called for support from Akwa Ibom people.

He said: “I wish to congratulate Nigeria and indeed every Nigerian on the victories of nationhood of the last 62 years.

“We could make the next decade more about human capital development, if we would commit to a popular will (people-oriented plan) incubated in each Local Development Area.

“We have complained enough and blame all else but ourselves for where we are the whole time. It’s time to take our destiny in our hands.

“Let me salute all patriots and our heroes past, whose confidence in a better Nigeria hasn’t shrunk despite the debilitating challenges of nationhood.

“My confidence in the youths is unwavering as I look forward to a nation where the youths will commit their all to re-engineering a better governance structure, groom new economies that would birth global business brands in rewards, thereby becoming springs of wealth for us all.

“When the youths are fully involved we will achieve a better Nigeria, and in Akwa Ibom State we are ready to make GAIN – Greater Akwa Ibom Now.

“May the labours of our heroes past not be in vain amen. Yak Inam Utom idúñ.”
