The Nigerian Medical Association NMA , Akwa Ibom State Branch, has set up a creche in Uyo where babies and young children are to be cared for during the working day.
According to the Chairman, NMA Akwa Ibom, Dr Emem Abraham “NMA crèche will carter for the teaming young professional mothers who are looking for a safe place to keep their children while at work.”
The NMA Crèche and Day Care Center located at Afaha road off Udoudoma Avenue is designed to run in accordance with global best practices.
Dr Abraham also revealed that the Crèche has well trained staff and in addition to doctors overseeing the day-day running of the centre.
She therefore encouraged all to bring their babies to the facility.
Present during the commissioning of the Crèche were Engr Stephen Okoko, MD Hensek Integrated Services Ltd; the immediate past Chief Judge of Akwa Ibom State, Justice Godwin Abraham (Rtd) , Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health , Dr Patrick Essiet , Permanent Secretary Hospital management Board ,Mrs. Stella Etukakpan, a retinue of Doctors, teachers and other professionals.
