Akparawa Ephraim Inyangeyen has charged delegates and people of Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District not to allow themselves to be deceived twice or intimidated as preparations for the 2023 governorship election continue to gather steam.

Inyangeyen, a former Commissioner for Works and former Chief of Staff to the Governor, gave the charge, today, while making his remarks during a rally held in honour of the Senator representing Uyo Senatorial District at the National Assembly and 2023 gubernatorial aspirant in Akwa Ibom State, Sen. Bassey Albert Akpan, by youth of Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District.

Commending Ikot Ekpene youth for identifying with the Senator popularly called OBA as the most popular aspirant, Inyangeyen, who is a leading contender for the Senate in 2023 in Eket Senatorial district, said Sen. Bassey Akpan is the man to free Akwa Ibom people from the crutches of the prevailing hunger and selfishness in the State, occasioned by sadistic and poor governance.

According to the ex-Customs officer, who was accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Ime Inyangeyen, “The governor you’re looking for in 2023 knows you by name and down to your different houses and also knows and feels your pulse. He is the governor that you deserve in 2023”.

Condemning what he called “the mischief of principalities or cronies in government quarters” for their desperation and fondness in always organizing sudden counter meetings every time they heard OBA was holding one event or the other, Akparawa Inyangeyen, Deputy Chairman of OBA Campaign organization, warned the youth to be wary of being deceived twice or intimidated by such antics as far as the 2023 governorship election was concerned.

He said the series of media attacks and shenanigans against OBA, allies and his supporters were akin to the travails faced by the biblical David in the hands of King Saul.

“The Saul that is pursuing David cannot stop David’s destiny of becoming a king. Heaven has accepted Sen. OBA. Earth has agreed. Let nobody deceive you”, he emphasized.

According to our reporter on the field, the highlight of the event was the presentation of a cheque of Twenty-one Million Naira (N21, 000, 000) for both the 2023 Governorship Nomination Form and Expression of Interest Form to the aspirant by the youth.

Presenting the symbolic cheque, the youth led by the youth leader of Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District, Mr. Uduak Isobara, said the financial support was their open support to the senator as their choices aspirant. “OBA is a done deal in Ikot Ekpene Senatorial district” the statement said.

Those who offered separate goodwill messages include the Chairman on the event, Sir. Emem Akpabio; DG of OBA Campaign think tank, the AkwaubokAbasi Campaign Organization, Bishop Andrew Uwanta; the spokesman, Usoro Usoro; Mr. Uduak Isobara; and other strategic political leaders including Chief Jerry Okpo; Okon Osung; women and youth leaders from other Senatorial districts.

It was gathered that Ikot Ekpene is the second Senatorial district that has held a rally for OBA in expression of their solidarity for his ambition. The first was Eket Senatorial district.
