Onofiok Commits To Leadership Mentorship

 

Member representing Etinan Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Onofiok Luke, has stated that his post legislative life will be committed to mentorship of young people in leadership endeavours, emphasizing that it has always been his interest to invest in rising young leaders in every space he finds himself.

Speaking at the ground breaking/foundation laying ceremony of Uyo Senatorial District Women’s Forum, USDWF/Martha Udom Emmanuel Leadership Academy recently, the National Assembly member who is the immediate past Speaker of the State Assembly emphasised that it is his passion to share knowledge and mentor young and upcoming leaders who he described as global shapers and community developers.

Luke, who offered to be a teacher in the new leadership school made a case for proper leadership training for serving and upcoming leaders, adding that the business of leadership is too serious to be handled lightly. He further stated that leaders must always be willing to learn and improved on their craft.

“I love leadership, and everyday we are learning, and so my commitment is that, as I take the back seat from June from Public Service into a private life, all I want to do is to impact knowledge to the younger generation both in public service so I offer myself as one of the tutors in the leadership academy”, Luke said.

Since his days in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Luke has been consistent in championing the cause for youth leadership and mentorship among young Akwa Ibomites.

He initiated a legislative mentorship programmes, the Onofiok Luke Legislative Internship Programme (TOLLIP) and Akwa Ibom Legislative Internship Programme (AKILIP).
