Director, Akwa Ibom State Council for Arts and Culture, Dr Unwana Joshua, has commended Governor Umo Eno for his re-appointment of Orman Esin as one of the members of the state Executive Council.
Dr Unwana Joshua gave the commendation during the weekly solemn assembly held at the amphitheater of the Council.
He said reappointing Mr Esin, who was the immediate past Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, was a testament to his hardwork and dedication to duties which have inspired a sense of confidence in the governor, hence his reappointment.
” I thank the State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, for re-appointing Rt Hon Orman Esin as a Commissioner in his cabinet.
The re-appointment shows that Orman Esin is a round peg in a round hole and this has inspired in the State Chief Executive, a vote of confidence and trust which justifies the reason for Esin’s selection”, Dr Joshua said
He congratulated Mr. Orman Esin on his sought-after pedigree which qualified him as one of the preferred for the exclusive list, and prayed God to imbue him with the requisite wisdom and capacity to discharge his duties and justify his reappointment.
As part of proactive efforts towards ensuring that various departments in the council witness positive growth, Dr Joshua also said that staff would be selected on a weekly rotation basis to man the Clement Isong Museum, Onna, to make the museum a centre of attraction.
He announced plans to partner with the Ministry of Education to approve excursions for pupils to the museum, for a wholesome educational experience on arts, crafts and cultural heritage of the state.
The Council boss commended staff for their hard work and called for more dedication to duties saying that God rewards mankind in their places of duty and they should not be found wanting.
He expressed appreciation to Governor Umo Eno for his A.R.I.S.E agenda and pledged staff commitment to compliment his vision in the culture and tourism sector.
In his remarks, the Akwa Ibom Chapter Chairman of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN), Evang. Joshua Offiong, lauded the turn around witnessed in the Council for Arts and Culture during Dr Unwana Joshua’s tenure as administrative head and prayed God to sustain the tempo of development.
The PMAN Chapter Chairman announced plans for a thanksgiving service scheduled for August 2023 in the state and invited all staff of the council to identify with PMAN.
In a homily, the Chaplain of the council, Pastor Solomon Boniface, preaching on the topic ” My Case Is Different”, urged staff to be steadfast in their faith during the present harsh economic realities being witnessed in the country,stressing that tough times don’t last but tough people do.
Taking his text from John 8: 1-11, the Chaplain advised staff to remain focused on God as he has the power to turn around situations for the better, be it individuals, the council, state or country at large.
The solemn assembly featured offerings, song ministrations, while prayers were offered for a staff of the council, Mr Mbetobong Friday Udosen to mark his birthday.
