Plane Crash: ATTAHIRU’S WIFE NOT DEAD – Gov’s CoS

Chief of Staff to Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State, Mohammed Dattijo, has clarified that Fati, wife of the late Chief of Army Staff Ibrahim Attahiru, is not dead as speculated.

The governor’s CoS made the revelation in a short message on his official social media handle while debunking a claim that Attahiru’s wife was involved in the accident.

“It is incorrect; the wife is alive. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace,” he tweeted.

On Friday evening, a Nigerian Air Force aircraft conveying some top military officers crashed near Kaduna.

Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, died in the crash which also claimed no fewer than ten lives.

The Chief of Air Staff was enroute Kaduna from Abuja when the unfortunate incident happened.

However, TheHILL investigation has that at least 17 military officers have lost their lives in the last three months in three crashes involving Nigerian Air Force jets.

On Sunday, February 21, 2021, seven NAF officers died onboard a Beechcraft KingAir B350i aircraft when the jet crashed in Abuja.

Also, on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, NAF spokesman, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, said an Alpha-Jet aircraft involved in the anti-terror war against Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province lost radar contact in Borno State.

Two officers were onboard the missing jet which was later declared crashed and the whereabouts of the two airmen unknown till date.
