Police Launch Manhunt for Killers of 2 Brothers in Nsit Ibom

Police in Akwa Ibom State said they are intensifying efforts to apprehend the perpetrators responsible for the tragic killing of two elderly brothers, Enefiok Etuk, aged 70, and Ebongeti Etuk, aged 50, in Nnung Iyoho, Afaha Offiong, Nsit Ibom Local Government Area.

The brothers were brutally murdered in their home around 11 pm by unidentified gunmen last Thursday.

According to Mr. Ime Etuk, the eldest brother who narrowly escaped into the bush, the assailants barged into the family residence, fatally injuring both brothers and stabbing the wife of the younger victim, who was nursing a baby.

Describing the harrowing ordeal, Mr. Ime Etuk recounted how he heard his physically challenged brother pleading for help moments before the chaos ensued.

The attackers forcibly entered rooms, dragging victims outside where they were mercilessly killed. Despite ongoing investigations, no arrests have been made yet.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, Odiko Macdon, a Superintendent of Police, however, assured the public that the police are diligently pursuing leads and conducting a manhunt to apprehend the culprits.

He noted that the Commissioner of Police, CP Waheed Ayilara, has ordered a thorough investigation, expressing confidence in the eventual apprehension of the perpetrators.
