REP. IDEM DONATES SIX CLASSROOMS BLOCK TO SCHOOL IN ORUK ANAM

The member representing Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Rep. Unyime Idem has approved the construction of six classrooms block to Methodist Primary School, Ikot Akpan Udo in Oruk Anam local government area.

Presenting the award letter to the Headmaster of the school, Mr Isaac Idiok, Rep. Idem who was represented by his Legislative Assistant, Mr Clayton Eyeneka said the project by the lawmaker was to assist in the provision of a conducive learning environment for the pupils.

The Deputy Chairman, Communications Committee in the House of Representatives who said the project is expected to commence immediately and completed in 12 weeks, added that the choice of Methodist Primary School, Ikot Akpan Udo was part of his vision to contribute to Governor Udom Emmanuel’s education completion agenda and boosting of knowledge economy.

In his response, the Headmaster who led the management staff to receive Rep. Idem’s delegation thanked the lawmaker for the project and described it as touching the critical needs of the institution.

“Thank you again for remembering Methodist Primary School in Ikot Akpan Udo, sometime ago, you came and donated note and text books to the pupils and today, you’re back to construct six classrooms for the school. We are deeply grateful for always extending your kind gestures to the school, God will bless you,” the Principal added.

The Village Head of Ikot Akpan Udo, Eteidung Clement Johnny Ukpe and the village council Chairman, Hon. Ime Umoh who led the chiefs and youths to the occasion, thanked Rep. Unyime Idem for his effective representation which they said has touched the lives of Oruk Anam people in particular and the entire federal constituency directly or indirectly.

They promised to support the contractor to carry out the project within the stipulated time for the benefits of the pupils.

Those present at the occasion were members of Rep. Idem’s delegation which included his Legislative Assistant, Mr Ediong Charles and a member of his Technical Team, Mr Etukudo Ukpana alongside the lead constructor of the project, Mr Jamil who inspected the project site.

Recall that recently, Rep. Unyime Idem also approved for construction ICT centres in Akwa Ibom State University Obio Akpa Campus and Comprehensive Secondary School Ikot Esenam all in Oruk Anam local government area.
