Member representing Etinan/Nsit Ibom/Nsit Ubium Federal Constituency, Rep. Onofiok Luke at the March meeting of Etinan Federal Constituency Forum ( EFCF) held today in Abuja has tasked the members to support and contribute their quota to building a sustainable Akwa Ibom State.
Luke said that despite EFCF being a diaspora body, the members must be conscious of the fact that they would some day return home to Akwa Ibom State. He added that it is only when they make a concerted effort to contribute to the peace in the state that they can return to see a place to live.
He commended the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr Udom Emmanuel for the initiative of Ibom Air which has eased travelling for him and many others. He charged the forum to support the completion agenda of the current administration in the state. He tasked the forum to support the governor to finish well.
The Lawmaker lauded his predecessor, Mr Samuel Ikon to providing him useful information on how to navigate the National Assembly. He said Mr Ikon offered him a one man orientation course that helped him.
He assured the forum of his preparedness to bring dividends to them. “EFCF will benefit from me and we will correct the mistakes we have made”, Luke said.
Luke who is also the Chairman, House Committee on Judiciary said he came as a representative to make a difference. He added that he needed to prepare to stand out in the House of Representatives. While he thanked God as the source of his exploit in the House, he praised the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila and the leadership for being the channel.
He thanked the President of EFCF, Harrison Asanga for his persistence and perseverance in piloting the affairs of the body. He promised to hold a town hall meeting with EFCF to share thoughts on the needs of the Federal Constituency.
In his remarks President of EFCF, Mr Asanga thanked the lawmaker for attending the meeting. He intimated him of the planned reception for him to officially admit him to the forum as a bonafide member.
