The People of Oron Local Government Area say they are excited with the blueprint and cardinal objective of Akparawa Ephraim Inyangeyen who is seeking to serve the people of Eket Senatorial District at the National Assembly next year.
They spoke after the Senate hopeful addressed them in Oron on Tuesday during the Young Progressives Congress campaigns held in Oron as part of strategies adopted by the Party to seek votes ahead of the general elections next year.
A community Leader who gave his name as Esin Esin said, listening to Ephraim was a delight and mind blowing. He said with the words of Ephraim Inyang-Eyen, it was easy for anyone to understand that the Ex Commissioner when elected into the Senate will offer the people a representation that will restore confidence on an average Eket Senatorial District person.
A woman Leader Akon Akwa described Ephraim Inyangeyen as a true intellectual whose voice is what is needed to attract quality attention of Government to the challenges of the area which include Flooding, over flooding of the River Banks along the Beach area, lack of accessories for fishing and processing of aquatic produce, poor road networks, electricity and incessant attacks from Sea pirates.
A youth Leader in the Area Victor Mkpofor said, he will mobilize the youths to vote for Ephraim Inyang-Eyen because he has demonstrated over time that he is a lover of the Oron People. Mkpofor said, Ephraim Inyangeyen will be supported because he has mentioned in clear terms how he intends to take the plight of Oro Nation to the attention of the Government at the centre.
Earlier in his address Inyangeyen who is the YPP candidate for Eket Senatorial District took his audience memory lane reminding them of how as a Commissioner for Works he carried out a couple of road construction projects in Oron saying that given the platform of a Senator, he will do even more.
Inyangeyen who is the most favoured to win the Eket Senate election opined that the problems facing the Area are perculiar and promised that with his contacts, he will work to ensure that pride of an Oron man is not toiled with.
He promised to work in tandem with Senator Bassey Albert whom he described as a man with a vision towards the development of Akwa Ibom State.
Inyangeyen opined that he will carry out an immediate training and retraining of Oron people so as to prepare them to the challenges and opportunities that will come upon the completion of the Seaport which he said will receive practical and immediate attention fr the Government of Bassey Albert.
Continuing Inyangeyen said he will build the capacity of Oron people and that as the Peoples Senator, he will anchor the Senatorial District in a manner that will benefit tne district and make it an envy of other Senatorial Districts.
