Senator Bassey Albert’s Witness floors EFCC

One of the witnesses of Senator Bassey Albert (OBA, in the on going EFCC case with him at Justice Agatha Okeke led Federal High Court 1, Uyo, Oloyode Olawale, an Accountant with Skymit Motors told the court Tuesday 15th February, 2022 that he has been a staff of Skymit Motors for 12 years and that even before he joined the company that Mr Olajide Jones Omokire has been a valued customer of their company having been buying cars from them and that Senator Bassey Albert has also been their customer for many years.

Olawale also told the court that the first time Omokire gave Senator Albert cars was in April 2005 and at that time Albert did not have any political appointment with Akwa Ibom State Government.

He added that Senator Albert was not the only person Mr Omokire has bought cars for over time but he has also bought cars for several prominent Nigerians who have not been charged to court by EFCC for accepting those cars like Senator Albert.

The witness further tendered documents to butress his claim whose exhibit further stunned EFCC legal team who expressed shock to have known that there were such records with Skymit Motors, Lagos.

The EFCC legal team was led by E. E. Iheanacho Esq and another while Senator Bassey Albert (OBA)’s legal team was led Chief Kanu Agabi SAN, Chief Mike Ozekhome SAN, Chief Solomon Umoh SAN, Chief Mba Ukweni, SAN, Barr Bassey Ekerete and 8 others.

The case has however, been adjourned till 17th/18th March, 2022 for continuation of defence.
