The Paramount Ruler, Uyo Local Government Area, HRM Edidem Sylvanus Okon, has been eulogized for ruling his subjects with fear of God since he ascended the throne.
The commendation came Friday from the National President of The Apostolic Church (TAC), Apostle (Dr.) Samson Igwe, during a courtesy visit to the royal father at his palace at Eniong Offot, Uyo LGA.
The Chief Shepherd of the Apostolic Church arrived Akwa Ibom on Monday and had since commenced ‘Ministerial Tour’ of Akwa Ibom Territory comprising seven fields of the Church.
Addressing the Uyo Paramount Ruler and his Council of Chiefs, the Man of God who said he was not unmindful of the vital roles traditional rulers play as agents of grassroots development in their different domains, specifically lauded the Uyo Monarch, who is a staunch Apostolic Church member for allowing the Holy Bible to be his guide.
His words: “The Bible is a working instrument for any leader that wants to be successful. The Holy Bible is like a manual. If a leader leads according to the Bible which is the Word of God, he will not have any failure or make a mistake. Because you have led your people using the word of God, I stand here to declare that the Almighty God will guide, direct and bless you and your reign will be successful,” the National President said.
Apostle Igwe, who was accompanied by other National and State leaders of the Church specifically commended the State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, for sustaining peace in Akwa Ibom. He charged the people to continue to cooperate with all leaders in the State to make their reign peaceful, successful and impactful.
Responding, the Uyo Paramount Ruler, Edidem Sylvanus Okon, thanked God for the safe arrival of the National President to the State which immediately followed with a familiazation tour of all the fields of the Church in Akwa Ibom
The Niger Delta Monarch and Ambassador of Life who appealed to the Clergyman and his entourage to continue to spread the message of peace and unity in the country, informed them that “Akwa Ibom is enjoying absolute peace because a man of peace is her governor”.
He lauded Governor Udom Emmanuel for working with the Traditional Institution in the entire State to maintain peace and tranquility and solicited more prayers for the governor and his administration.
Highpoint of the visit was a session of prayers for God to remain with the governor and sustain peace in the State even as both leaders presented the Holy Bible to each other.
Present at the palace during the visit were; the wife of the Paramount Ruler; Obonganwan (Deaconess) Sylvanus Okon, the Prince and heir apparent to the throne; Barr. Ubong Okon as well as the e immediate members of the royal family. Others were; the Clan Head of Oku, the Village Heads of Uyo Offot, Ifa Atai, Ibaoku, Afaha Oku, Ikot Ntuen Oku, Use Ikot Akpan Ediene among others.
