People who were at the Magistrate Court sitting in Wuse Zone 2, Abuja, got a shock upon seeing an unidentified man dressed like a ‘juju’ man (thaumaturgist) following Omoyele Sowore, the convener of #RevolutionNow protest, to the court room.
The man was said to have been clad in a traditional attire allegedly to demonstrate his support for Sowore during a hearing on Tuesday, March 2.
A report from The Cable said the spiritualist appeared in the full regalia of his profession: knee-length robe with red and black stripes and a cap.
Sowore said the ‘juju’ man came to show his support for him in court. The man’s attire was decorated with cowries, snail shells, and little calabashes. He also had the head of a cat hanging down his neck.
Sowore described the man as a well-meaning Nigerian who simply came to show his support for him.
However, the Court adjourned the trial of the activist and Publisher of Sahara Reporters; Mr. Omoyele Sowore and his co-defendants, to May 7.
Before the case was adjourned, Chief Magistrate Mabel Segun-Bello varied the conditions attached to the bail that was earlier granted to the 2nd to 5th Defendants.
The court granted the Defendants permission to travel outside Abuja until the next adjourned date.
The four other defendants in the matter are Juwon Sanyaolu, Peter Williams, Damilare Adenola and Emmanuel Bulus.
Recall, the court had in a ruling on January 11, granted Sowore bail to the tune of N20million with two sureties in like sum, even as it gave his co-Defendants bail in the sum of N1m each with one surety.
