…lauds Boss for reforms in education sector

Pupils have been advised to imbibe the spirit of innovation, creativity & enterprise and avoid distractions in the course of their academics noting with dismay the high rage of moral decadence in the society.
The Special Assistant to Governor Udom Emmanuel on Entrepreneurial Development, Mrs. Meflyn Anwana gave the charge on Monday during the 2020/2021 graduation and prize giving ceremony of Fairland International Schools at House of the Rock and (Church Authorium), Atiku Abubakar Way, Uyo.
The Governor’s aide stated that the goal of incorporating moral values into education is to ensure that, upon graduation, pupils not only have the knowledge and skills needed to work and succeed, but also the compassion and emotional wherewithal to be a part of a safe, peaceful, and cooperative society.
Mrs. Anwana described education as a major step towards building a sound mental system for the younger generation to build a necessary requirement for human and national progress which is a foundation to human and national development.
“Every child is entitled to have a qualitative and sound education for a more promising prospect. A country’s development lies solely in its educational system. The high standard of quality education in the nation will give rise to improved changes in our society” she noted.
Mrs. Anwana lauded the gigantic strides of Governor Udom Emmanuel in the educational sector, the free and compulsory education policy in the state and the humongous reform the educational sector has witnessed as he recently declared a state of emergency in the sector to enhance a total renaissance with the rehabilitation of classroom blocks, assembly halls, staff quarters, parameter fencing both in the secondary and tertiary institutions of the state.
Mrs. Anwana revealed that parents has a vital role to play in inculcating moral values to their wards which will prepare the children for their future roles in the society, counter the bad influences in society and promote a value added lifestyle of the child.
She noted that the greatest investment in life is to invest in humanity in which education according to her education is the bed rock to development in any advanced country in the world as it enables growth and development to the future leaders, as well as their morals, attitude and how they relate to those around them.
The Governor’s aide however extolled the exemplary leadership acumen of the management of the school as well as the teachers most particularly for instilling journal writing, discipline, time management and identifying innovation and creativity as a core societal value for the pupils.
Highlight of the ceremony featured presentation of educational grants to the Valedictorian and cash prizes to the muti-talented pupils.
