Udom’s Commissioner to Students: LAW IS A NOBLE PROFESSION, UPHOLD ITS TENET

Law profession has been described as a noble profession whose tenet must be upheld by practicing lawyers and intending ones.

This was made known by the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Akwa Ibom State, Hon. Frank Archibong on Monday, during the opening of the “Hon. Frank Archibong Lawsan Inter Chamber Moot/Mock Competition” at the Moot Court Complex, University of Uyo.

The Commissioner who was visibly excited, expressed his commitment to the interest of LAWSAN, encouraging the Students to be hardworking, as it is a stepping stone to actual practice and this, according to him will help boost their profession.

“We all know that the Law profession is a very dignifying one, and a noble one which comes with high expectations. This Moot exercise is one of such clear guide and a strong stepping stone to actual practice”, Archibong said.

“It’s not a profession you come out as a graduate and manage your way through; you have to practice it and clearly demonstrate your skills and the knowledge derived through school. Activities such as this will help sharpen the role expected of you from the larger society and in the future”, the Chieftaincy boss said.

Archibong who was represented by his aide, Mr Tommy Enodien, further charged them to be committed to their academic goals as no knowledge is lost, saying that every knowledge is necessary and will be applicable somewhere in the future. He appealed to the competitors to display the spirit of sportmanship throughoutthe competition.
He assured the students of his constant support to the body beyond this year’s edition, urging them to support and pray for the completion agenda of His Excellency, Mr Udom Emmanuel.
