With the addition of two new airbuses to the Ibom Air fleet on Sunday, Chief of Staff to Governor Udom Emmanuel, Mr. Ephraim Inyang-Eyen, has described the event as historic and further proof of Governor Udom Emmanuel’s visionary leadership and demonstrable determination to progressively transform the State into an economic hub in the comity of States.

Inyang-Eyen made the remarks yesterday during interaction with news men in a special note of gratitude and congratulation to the Governor, shortly after the unveiling of the two new A220-300 series of airbuses at the Victor Attah International Airport, Uyo.

In his words, “What is happening today is simply amazing. It shows what a leader who is ready to make a difference can do, in spite of the hard times we are. Imagine that upon other big projects the State government is presently handling in the area of infrastructure, creation of industries, agriculture, etc, considerable funds could still be raised to achieve this feat. This indeed is a model”, he stated.

The CoS maintained that the alterative offered by the aggressive investment in aviation by the Governor has not only improved the State’s revenue inflow, generated employment and boosted tourism, but is an icing on the cake to the infrastructural renaissance expeditiously marshalled by the administration.

He therefore called on all Akwa Ibom indigenes at home and abroad to key into the development model of the State Government by earnestly supporting the Governor and his policies rather than indulge in inconsequential criticism and political denial of the reality.

“By any standard of assessment, His Excellency, Governor Udom Emmanuel, has set a standard and raised the bar of governance not just in Akwa Ibom State but in the country as a whole. All he needs now is support not distraction as he strives to push the Completion Agenda to a logical conclusion”, Mr. Inyangeyen urged.

Earlier in his speech, Governor Udom Emmanuel had hinted that his intention is for Akwa Ibom to take over the regional airspace as he plans to add 10 more airplanes to the existing fleet before leaving office in 2023. The launch of the 2 new aircraft brought to seven number of airbuses on the Ibom Air fleet.

Unveiling the two new brides, the Special Guest of Honour and Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, congratulated Governor Emmanuel and stated that his leadership style and achievements have become a challenge to other governors in the country.
