The First Lady informed the female youths that the leadership of the group has appraised and found them competent enough to be saddled with the responsibilities, saying they must reciprocate by submitting and being loyal.

Speaking on women supporting women, Dr. Emmanuel echoed that it was necessary for the new generation of women leaders in Akwa Ibom to learn to celebrate each other’s success rather than engage in “pull-her-down syndrome” which according to her does not promote unity.

She noted that in line with the 2021 International Women’s Day celebration, she decided to chart a new course for Akwa Ibom women by identifying and honouring special women who are daring the odds and making it in their chosen endevours.

The governor’s wife cautioned against the dangerous trends of promiscuity, nudity and obscene language bandied on social media by youths, asserting that it was not a true reflection of Akwa Ibom spirit.

Speaking further, Dr. Emmanuel encouraged the females to become good ambassadors of her in their respective domains by conducting themselves in proper manner and seek to leave indelible marks for posterity sake.

His counterpart in the Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs ministry, Hon. Frank Archibong in his advice to the newly inaugurated EXCO, admonished them to work hard to pay back the confidence in them, saying out of the millions of female youths in the state, they have been found worthy to pilot the affairs of the body in their respective areas.

Similarly, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Matters, Comrade Aniefiok Iwaudofia while speaking, alluded to the fact that the entirety of Akwa Ibom youths have fared better under the administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel and charged the newly inaugurated chapter EXCO to be diligent and responsible in their responsibilities.

In a vote of thanks, the State President of the group, Comrade Esther Nta, thanked the governor’s wife for believing their ability to perform, promising not to trade the confidence for anything else.

She notified the governor’s wife about the proposed first ever Akwa Ibom Female Youth Summit with the theme “Getting it Right,” saying it hopes to build capacity and creativity, etiquettes and as well serve as a mentorship platform.
