The Senate of the University of Uyo at its 122nd Meeting has approved the conversion of the Department of Communication Arts into the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies.
The new departments under the faculty are:
1. Journalism
2. Public Relations
3. Advertising and Marketing Communications
4. Broadcasting
5. Film and Multimedia Studies
6. Information and Media Studies
7. Strategic and Corporate Communication
